Duckweed Acquisition Activity
From The Oregon Gardens Wetlands

Initial Batch. Left tray untouched, right tray new growth after two weeks, (all but ~5% transferred to ice chest on 4/28/2002). Dark mass in center of right tray is residual algae scum awaiting removal.	Duckweed from the right tray transferred to ice chest. An aquarium airstone was added to provide bubbled air.
Duckweed Acquisition Activity Tools: Insulated covered plastic tubs and special DAS, (Duckweed Acquisition Scoop).	The Garden Pond, full of duckweed, adjacent to the main entrance.
DAS unit in action. Unfortunately, long strands of algae were interwoven into the duckweed roots.	Back at the lab, the duckweed awaits the unweaving and tray-transfer process.
